What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Scheduler position at St. Hope Foundation?
We are seeking a Patient Scheduler to become a part of our team! You will be responsible for scheduling and managing patient appointments for primary care services.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments as necessary.
- Maintain and update appointments based on medical service providers' availability, and maintain contact with patients, notifying them of any scheduling changes.
- Follow-up with patients who are out of care to schedule appointments.
- Perform live webchat with patients.
- Perform essential work within Electronic Health Record system and program data entry systems with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA regulations
- Communicate in a culturally competent and effective manner to clients/caregivers regarding the services available.
- Other tasks/duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Scheduling or Administrative experience - 2 years minimum of proven history in the medical field
- Experience working in primary care or family practice setting.
- Good keyboard skills - 35 wpm
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.
- Detailed oriented and organized.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Insurance verification experience is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- The position occasionally requires sitting, standing and bending. Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required.
