Staff Accountant
St. John's Jesuit High School & Academy is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant. As an all-boys Catholic school rooted in the Jesuit tradition, St. John's serves approximately 750 young men in grades 6-12, fostering the development of "Men for Others" who are loving, open to growth, intellectually competent, religious, and committed to justice. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accurate execution of financial operations, including but not limited to:
- Processing day-to-day financial transactions with attention to detail and precision.
- Maintaining a current and accurate cash sub-ledger for all bank accounts.
- Performing monthly reconciliations for all bank accounts.
- Preparing and completing closing journal entries.
- Managing the fixed assets process, including data entry, reconciliation, and calculating monthly depreciation.
- Completing payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical sense, capable of interpreting financial data, identifying trends, resolving discrepancies, and making informed recommendations. In addition to analytical skills, candidates must possess:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Excellent customer service skills, a team-oriented mentality, and flexibility in managing multiple tasks.
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs.
- Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation:
