Day in the Life as an Activity Director:
- Work closely with the interdisciplinary team, including healthcare professionals, to understand the unique needs and preferences of residents.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with various departments to ensure seamless integration of activities into the overall care plan
- Developing an Activities Program, that caters to the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of residents.
- Purchasing or Leasing Supplies for planned activities, managing budgetary considerations, seek cost-effective solutions while maintaining the quality of supplies.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities for the Activities Assistants.
- Lead by example by actively participating in various activities to encourage resident engagement and create a positive atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a long-term care or healthcare setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt activities to accommodate varying physical and cognitive abilities.
