Job Description
St. Joseph Residence is seeking caring, responsible, and qualified caregivers to join our assisted living team at our Memory Care Assisted Living, Monarch Meadows. Monarch Meadows is our new 24-bed memory care assisted living that opened in February 2019.
As a Resident Assistant, you will be responsible for providing direct care services such as passing medication, bathing, dressing, grooming, ADL and incontinence care, housekeeping, laundry and activities. It is essential to have time management skills, a positive attitude, to be flexible and patient and to want to work as part of a team. Our Memory Care unit will be focused on caring for residents with Dementia and Alzheimer's related diagnosis while creating a safe and stimulating environment. Our program and care will focus on socialization and engagement, utilizing a friend to friend approach. The Resident Assistant will play a significant role in engaging our Residents in meaningful activities throughout the day.
Certified Nursing Assistant certification is helpful, however, we will provide training and obtain the necessary assisted living certification for applicants who possess the skills and necessary attributes we are looking for to join our team.
Other Responsibilities Include
· Participate in customizing resident service plans
· Monitor residents for change of condition and take appropriate action, contacting RN on call and/or Physician
· Work in collaboration with nurses, family members and other healthcare professionals
· Participate in performance improvement projects
· Represent the St. Joseph Residence organization in a professional, customer service-oriented manner
Job Requirements
· Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team
· Must be punctual and have a good attendance history
· Must be able to successfully complete the medication pass assisted living course. (8 hour course)
Position Available
Full-time night (NOC) shift, 10 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. Will include every other weekend and rotating holidays.
Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday
Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday
Resident Assistants are required to have CBRF certifications to include:
First Aid, Fire Safety, Infection Control and Medication Management.
Starting Wage
Excellent starting wage, new RA with less than 1 year of experience but has all completed Standard Precautions, Fire Safety, First Aid and Choking and Medication Management will start at $20.70. Wage increases based on years of experience.
