- Under the clinical supervision of a licensed physician, incumbent is responsible for assessing and managing the health care of patients, promoting health, and providing care in keeping with parameters established for nurse practitioners in a family practice setting.

- Core Job Functions
- Obtains medical information and provides physical examinations according to standards. Facilitate referrals of patients to other medical providers, medical facilities, or their health/social service agencies when appropriate. Charts and dictates progress notes, to include transmitting that information orally, or through notation in the patient’s medical record, to the supervising physician for review and confer with physicians on patients presenting with more complex problems.
- Prescribe and manage medications according to standards. Order required labs and other medical studies according to standards. Coordinates care with physician according to standards.
- Performs screenings according to standards. Coordinates and monitors health goals according to standards. Provides additional guidance on treatment alternatives and is available by phone for urgent needs and care guidance on a limited basis.
- Adheres to prescription drug or device order guidelines in any health care setting in accordance with regulations. Compliant with all standards of practitioner requirement.
