FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Schedule:  Less than 20 hrs per week/ 

7:30am to 10:30am and 4:00pm to 12:00am, evenings, weekends, and on call as needed.

Description

The Hall Coordinator manages the operations of St Lawrence Catholic Church venues and is the point of contact for all events scheduled in the Parish Hall. Works under the supervision of the Parish Administrator to ensure parish ministry leaders, parishioners and clients have a seamless event in the Parish Hall and a wonderful experience when they choose St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church as their venue of choice. Works events held in the Parish Hall and assists the client during the event. Events held in the Parish Hall include receptions for weddings, quinceaneras, funerals, parish ministry events and/or activities including meetings, private parties and events.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Organizes, maintains, and manages the operations and reliability of St Lawrence venues.
  • Responsible for opening and closing of the venue’s doors for each event.
  • Responsible for turning on and off the venue lights.
  • Responsible for turning on and off the venue AC and monitors its cold or heal settings.
  • Must check that restrooms are adequately stocked with all the supplies.
  • Must ensure that the venue is properly prepared with all trashcans.
  • Must ensure that the Concession is properly stocked with all the drinks and food sold.
  • Must be sure that the Petty Cash is placed in the cash register ready for sales.
  • Must ensure that the credit card machine is working and ready for public sales.
  • Responsible for checking that walk-in cooler; that it’s stock with product.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in      the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, and financial      information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct, TABC, and other Awareness Programs is mandatory.
  • Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and      undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the mission and vision of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • TABC Certification
  • Must have good customer service skills and experience.
  • Must have good communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Must successfully pass a background and criminal history.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff.
  • Must have a clean, neat appearance and professional demeanor.
  • Must be Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Punctual and dependable.
    • Reliable transportation
    • Valid driver license
    • Valid  vehicle insurance

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Physical Requirements: able to lift 30 lbs. frequently, stand/walk 8-12 hours 
  • Good interpersonal skills, be friendly, outgoing and willing to work under pressure
  • Excellent time management, creative problem solving and communication skills required
  • Knowledge and ability to work with various technology
  • Working knowledge of facilities maintenance, and custodial principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes.
  • Experience in preparing a variety of reports related to operational activities,      including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of  measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • A good knowledge base of preventative maintenance principles and practices.
  • Must be detail oriented in all tasks, organized, self-motivated, work well independently      and in a team.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends through 12:00am and holidays due to an unpredictable work schedule when necessary.
  • Ability to relate positively to others in the work environment. Demonstrates courtesy while performing assigned duties, exercising initiative in efficiently resolving problems, and avoids use of foul or improper language.
