CLASS SUMMARY
The essential function of this position is to oversee case management in the civil divisions of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit by the creation and implementation of case management procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, the circuit civil divisions, county civil divisions, small claims divisions, foreclosure divisions, probate divisions and guardianship divisions. The position is responsible for supervising staff, planning, training, program development and implementation, complying with policy and procedures, administering related budgets, and performing related administrative functions. The position may carry an individual case load in addition to the administrative duties assigned to this position. The position works independently, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. The position works under general supervision of the Director of Case Management, developing work methods and sequences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES% OF TIME
Directs and supervises staff, including organizing, selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning and evaluating work, counseling, disciplining, and terminating or recommending termination; prepares periodic employee performance evaluations; reviews and approves timesheets and leave requests.20
Oversees research and management of legal cases/files including monitoring workflow; directs, organizes, maintains, and supervises court docketing; prepares special orders as required; conducts show-cause hearings, types reset orders, and re-evaluates files for noshows and calendars files; and meets with lawyers and the public as require15
Plans, develops, and drafts program materials, such as staff training materials, procedural checklists and protocols, or information sheets and notices for the general public15
Assists in developing, drafting, and implementing operational policies and procedures to enhance program operations; ensures compliance by staff with applicable rules, statutes, policy, and procedures; and interprets policy for staff as require10
Provides information on case status and procedures, handles requests and delegates accordingly within the civil division, and resolves complaints; reviews computer reports and case files as required; and reviews ex parte letters sent to judges10
Works with Clerk of Court to ensure accuracy of court records and timely documentation of information; develops and analyzes reports and documentation of court proceedings periodically10
Oversees and monitors services offered to the public for attorneys and pro se litigants; coordinates, develops/drafts associated written materials, resources, and training for programs of responsibility.5
Provides continuing in-service training for staff on relevant law issues, program policy, and court procedures and processes5
Gathers and analyzes information/data or oversees compilation of data to support periodic and special reports documenting activities for the area of responsibility5
Performs administrative tasks, such as reviewing and organizing calendars, processing files, administering budgets, filing transcripts and submitting monthly transcript data; or preparing correspondence3
Attends and/or conducts staff, committee or other professional meetings to exchange information; establishes and maintains working relationships with other court personnel and the community and attends technical or professional workshops or seminars to improve professional skills2

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES
Education

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, criminology, social work, law, or a closely related field.
Experience
Refers to the amount of related work experience that is recommended for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the required tasks. Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for- year basis, excluding supervisory experience.
Four years of related work experience, including two years of supervisory experience. 
A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school may substitute for up to three years of related work experience.Pay Grade 0
