SUMMARYThe Accounting Coordinator performs any combination of the following and similar duties: accounting, payroll, grants, audits and special projects. Position is responsible for professional accounting work. The Accounting Coordinator will complete work as assigned by supervisors.

The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position.Review fiscal/accounting documents for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness; makes appropriate arithmetic calculations; research discrepancies and communicates with various contacts to resolve discrepancies; research incomplete or inaccurate documentation and requests missing information from document origination. Processes, prepares, generates, distributes, and disburses various forms, reports, correspondence, invoices, checks, listings, and/or other documents; reviews, completes, processes forward or retains as appropriate. Utilizes designated software programs to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections as appropriate. Conducts standard internal audits of various revenues, funds, and departmental accounting records; performs special audits as assigned.Analyzes fiscal records; performs monthly/annual reconciliation and reviews for records data and/or accounts. Assist auditors with records or related information for year-end closing activities.While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members. Duties may include preparing bank reconciliation, balancing cash receipts, preparing special revenue checks, generating financial statements, managing operating funds.Performs related duties as directed.May be subject to random drug testing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
