Description of the Position : (Purpose of the Position):
The NCCC works to support Northfield students pursuing post-secondary education by offering tutoring, childcare and other student support services. The NCCC intentionally focuses on partnering with recent Northfield alumni, especially students of color, those from low-income families, and those who are first-generation college attendees. The NCCC Support Specialist would provide childcare while students attend evening classes. Additionally, they will be asked to support various capacity-building projects as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities :
Determine a weekly schedule working at the NCCC Resource Room Provide childcare while students attend evening classes
Communicate regularly with NCCC staff regarding any childcare concerns and needs
Contributing to NCCC marketing by reviewing plans, distributing posters to local coffee shops, etc.
Office clerical duties including but not limited to data entry, preparing parent/family outreach mailings, type/summarize meeting notes, research information for program use, and other clerical duties as assigned, as time permits
A commitment to showing up at the same time(s) each week.
Preferably available 5:45 – 9:00 p.m. any night Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (but work the same shift/day each week)

Strong communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Expected to be comfortable working with students of diverse backgrounds Experience working with children preferred
Bilingual (Spanish or Somali speaking skills) preferred
