Job Summary
The EMT-Basic plays a crucial role in providing emergency medical care to patients in various situations. This position requires a dedicated individual who is capable of responding to emergencies promptly and effectively. The EMT-Basic will work alongside other healthcare professionals to assess patient conditions, administer basic life support, and ensure safe transport to medical facilities.
Duties
- Perform patient assessments and document vital signs accurately.
- Administer emergency medical care, including airway management and injections as needed.
- Assist in the transport of patients to hospitals, ensuring their comfort and safety during transit.
- Collaborate with paramedics and other healthcare providers at the scene of emergencies.
- Maintain equipment and supplies on the ambulance, ensuring readiness for emergency calls.
- Provide compassionate patient care while communicating effectively with patients and their families.
- Adhere to protocols established by Level I and Level II Trauma Centers for patient treatment and transport.
Experience
Candidates should possess a strong background in emergency medicine, including:
- Knowledge of physiology and patient assessment techniques.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Experience with heavy lifting as required for patient transport.
- Familiarity with protocols for managing patients at both Level I and Level II Trauma Centers.
- Previous experience in a similar role or relevant training is preferred.
- 48/96 shift schedule
