ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Oversight of field personnel, daily/weekly schedules, and construction operations
- Strong focus on development of craft workforce and the ability to attract and retain quality, skilled craft employees
- Supervise and schedule wet utility pipe work, earthwork and grading, MOT, civil demolition, and other miscellaneous civil crews and subcontractors daily
- Provide leadership and direction to construction personnel
- Manage field operations as well as coordinate work with other superintendents and subcontractors
- Assist Engineers with quantities and productions to ensure project goals are achieved
- Coordinate equipment and crews and other job-related activities to maximize efficiency
- Attend status meetings to discuss progress
- Perform additional assignments as needed
- Develop and train Field Engineers, Foremen and Craft Workers
- Ensure that ALL resources assigned are maintained, protected, secured and used at optimum efficiency
- Understand project budgets and productions to manage personnel and equipment efficiently
- Have a working knowledge of all required plans and specifications
- Develop Foreman through mentoring to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the projects are met
- Assist with survey and field layout
- Carry out job duties while maintaining company values
- Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
(Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Exceptional safety and quality record
- 5 years minimum of superintendent experience building earthwork, utilities, roadways, and airports projects
- 10 years minimum of construction experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good organization and communication skills
- Ability to coordinate with field superintendents and craft personnel
- Work with a diverse group of individuals and organizations representing public agencies, private utilities, subcontractors and suppliers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Driver’s License in good standing
