Job Overview of Bookkeeper
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices and be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes and will involve working closely with various departments to support their accounting needs.
Responsibilities of Bookkeeper
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Conduct regular audits of financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Support tax preparation processes by gathering necessary documentation and information.
- Collaborate with public accounting firms for external audits as needed.
- Perform double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate ledgers.
- Provide assistance in corporate accounting tasks as required.
Qualifications of Bookkeeper
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, with a solid understanding of corporate accounting practices.
- Familiarity with accounts receivable processes and journal entry preparation.
- Knowledge of debits and credits, as well as financial report writing skills.
- Experience in public accounting is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members across departments.
