STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States and with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and more including internationally in Mexico and India.
We are looking for a NOC Technician to join our team in a 24x7x365 network operations environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring network events, initiating incidents, performing high-level triage, and managing escalations and notifications. This role requires direct customer communication as needed and close collaboration with the Tier 2 support team. The NOC Technician should be able to diagnose hardware, software, and system issues efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Network Monitoring & Incident Management: Monitor critical systems, network alarms, and customer issues around the clock.
- Initial Triage & Ticketing: Answer customer calls, create tickets, and perform initial triage for issue resolution.
- Issue Resolution & Escalation: Resolve issues using documented processes and escalate complex problems to the appropriate support teams.
- Customer Communication & Updates: Provide real-time updates to customers and stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution of incidents.
- Incident Documentation & Notifications: Maintain accurate incident logs, send updates to internal teams and external customers as required.
- Shift Handover & Continuity: Ensure seamless communication and ticket handover between shifts following operational guidelines.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in telecommunications or related fields.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of SONET, IP subnetting, Layer 2/3 routing, DWDM, and dark fiber services.
- Experience with networking equipment such as Ciena Optical, Cisco Optical, Infinera, Juniper MX/EX, MRV switches, Cisco routers, and switches.
- Familiarity with NMS and EMS systems for troubleshooting.
- Experience with Layer 2/3 networking, BGP, IPv6, and JUNOS is a plus.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to multitask and work independently.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $25 - $35 /per hour, depending on experience.
Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
