We are seeking a customer focused, dynamic, and experienced leader of people to join our team as an Operations Manager.
Job Overview:
The Operations Manager will assist in the coordination and management of all aspects of the terminal, guaranteeing excellent customer service with every shipment, while ensuring efficient and cost-effective handling of freight, and compliance with company and regulatory agency policies. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, an understanding of LTL operations, and the ability to lead and supervisor others.
Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Management
  
  • Assist in all terminal operations, including inbound and outbound freight, dock operations, linehaul city and office operations.
  • Implement actions plans to maximize efficiency and minimize operational costs.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Develop a clear understanding of all positions at the terminal with the ability to train, coach and step in as necessary.
  
  
  
  
• Staff Management
  
  • Assist in training and supervision of terminal staff, including dock workers, drivers, supervisors and clerical/office staff.
  • Providing coaching and implementing disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, that promotes Standard Forwarding Freight’s culture of excellence in all we do.
  Foster collaboration and coordination within the terminal and across other departments and terminals in the network.
  
  
  

• Customer service
  
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly, and with the utmost courtesy and professionalism.
  • Ensure professional, polite, timely and accurate communication with internal and external customers, in all interactions.
  
  
• Financial Management
  
  • Compile metrics and report on various operational results
  • Identify root causes and improvement opportunities and identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  
  
• Compliance and Safety
  
  • Ensure all operations comply with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by promoting and enforcing all company safety standards and safe operating procedures.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the LTL terminal operations
• Proven leadership and management skills
• Strong understanding of LTL freight operations, including inbound/outbound, routing, and transportation/DOT regulations.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and cover various shifts as needed.
• Proficient in using LTL software, and basic Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Wage Range: 70000.00 - 80000.00 per year
