Your Job
As a Senior Property Manager, you provide critical operational support across Stanford Management’s property portfolio. You engage directly with Property Managers, Maintenance Technicians, and Leadership to drive projects to completion, track progress, and ensure timely, cost-effective results. You also sit in on operational gaps, coordinate vendors, manage capital improvement planning, and help enforce consistency in internal systems. This is a multifaceted role blending leadership, logistics, and communication.
You will spend no less than 3 days per week visiting properties and/or engaging with those properties via distance technology.

You demonstrate strong judgment and are able to assess challenges, prioritize effectively, and adapt quickly as circumstances change. You take ownership of your responsibilities, maintain credibility and professionalism across teams, and ensure that all projects meet or exceed Stanford’s high standards of excellence.
Educational/Experiential Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience (5 years).
● Experience in project management, operations, affordable housing, or property/facilities management.
● Demonstrated success managing cross-functional projects and/or internal initiatives.
● High level written and verbal communication skills.
● COS or STAR Certification or willingness to obtain within one year of hire (Stanford will underwrite cost).
● REAC experience and working knowledge of facilities management highly preferred.
● Familiarity with Section 515, Section 8, LIHTC, and RLP programs preferred.
● Competence in Office 365 applications (Excel, Word, Outlook), project management platforms, and property management software, with the ability to learn and apply new systems quickly.
Physical demands:
You engage in a wide range of activities associated with normal office environments, including sitting, kneeling, bending and standing, and using hands and fingers to manipulate a keyboard and mouse, telephone, and other office devices. You regularly travel (car/air) to Stanford properties and our home office, using a personal or company car. You regularly move about Stanford properties to inspect the facilities and meet with co-workers.
Your Responsibilities Include:
● Coordinating and prioritizing major and minor capital improvement projects (e.g., siding, septic, paving, roofing, window replacement, heat conversons, unit rehabs, landscaping, trash enclosures).
● Supporting and advising Property Managers on project planning, work order management, and capital resource utilization.
● Ensuring the strategic use of CAPEX and R&M budgets across properties, maximizing value.
● Tracking and managing open work orders, snow/lawn contracts, and vendor engagements.
● Supporting implementation and oversight of 5-year capital plans and project wish lists.
● Reviewing and approving AP invoices and POs over threshold values.
● Sitting in on operational gaps and supporting vacant property management positions as needed.
● Maintaining documentation and providing timely reporting to senior leadership on project status, property needs, and budget use.
● Facilitating training and guidance for maintenance or property teams, in coordination with leadership.
Your Team(s)
● Property Managers – You coordinate with and support Property Managers to elevate their project execution.
● Leadership Team – You work closely with the CEO, Vice President, Director of Operations and Compliance, and Director of Finance.
● Maintenance Teams – You collaborate with Maintenance Technicians to resolve project needs and optimize workflow.
● Team Stanford – You contribute to the success of all employees by sharing resources and supporting best practices.
