EMIS/Student Information Support Specialist
Job Description:
Under the direction of the SPARCC Director(s), the student information support specialist is responsible for student information operation support services for the educational entities associated with the SPARCC consortium.
Major Responsibilities:

Provide rapid detection of issues and solutions to the current student information software application inquiries.

Provide effective means of ‘trouble-shooting’ user questions, concerns and needs.

Assist, plan and deliver training for users on the current student software.
-
Act as primary contact between member districts and SPARCC.

Keep users notified of changes and/or updates to the current student software applications and supporting software modules.

Plan, write and distribute documentation as necessary to provide effective professional development, training and support for users.

Assist in developing various software procedures as needed by SPARCC.

Escalate and manage incidents with state support agencies.

Maintain, enhance and fulfill an understanding of the current student software operating system and supporting systems.

Maintain working knowledge of EMIS changes and standards.

Maintain, enhance, and fulfill user defined reports and data requests.
-
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Director of Operations.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read, understand, and develop instructional software documentation to conduct training programs in the use of software applications.

Ability to keep updated on new developments, cultivate resources available from the Department of Education, other OECN sites, related educational and professional organizations, and associated commercial vendors.
Required Qualifications:

Ability to read and understand software documentation, to develop instructional materials as needed, to conduct training programs in the use of software applications.

Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with many individuals of varying backgrounds and to handle information professionally and confidentially.

Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to organize tasks into a logical and purposeful sequence.

Familiarity with various software systems.

Ability to use associated computer equipment to accomplish tasks.

Ability to communicate with other employees in a professional manner

Ability to independently see tasks through from start to finish.
Desired Qualifications:
-
Minimum two-year college degree or equivalent experience.

Three or more years of experience with student software and related third party software.

Proficient knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing software and operating systems.

Knowledge of student/staff EMIS reporting.

Employment Terms:
- 7.5 hours per day
- 240 day contract
