What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Starr Electric Company, Inc.?
Purpose of Position:
The Estimator will participate in obtaining, estimating, planning, coordinating, and supporting pre-construction activities related to division projects. The Estimator will also participate in marketing efforts to obtain new clients and projects for the organization. The Estimator will be responsible for ensuring that proper documentation is provided to project management and accounting to support the activities related to company projects. The Estimator shall maintain appropriate relationships with client contacts in order to assure their satisfaction with the work performed by Starr Electric Company, Inc.
Job Functions (Essential Functions):
1. Work under the direction of the Senior Estimator as regards activities relating to estimating performed by Starr Electric Company personnel in a safe and efficient manner.
2. Ensure that all applicable safety requirements and housekeeping issues are maintained to the highest possible standards.
3. Routinely meet with appropriate parties to verify that estimates are being developed in an accurate manner and reflect actual costs. Develop means to track and ensure that estimate system information is accurate and current.
4. Ensure that proper and accurate information is available and being utilized for company estimates. Develop methods and procedures to ensure consistency in company estimating efforts.
5. Attend pre-bid meetings, job planning meetings, and job progress meetings and provide estimates for projects as required.
6. Actively engage and/or assist in the marketing efforts of the Company as deemed necessary to further the goals of.
7. Responsibly determine the needs for additional resources and present data to support those needs to the appropriate authority.
8. Maintain relationships with others in the organization so as to provide for a positive work climate.
9. Administer directives as assigned.
10. Assume other duties as directed by appropriate authorities.
11. Adherence to Starr Electric’s policies and procedures, including Starr Electric’s Environmental, Health, and Safety program.
Education, Experience, and/or Prerequisites Required:
1. Requires a Bachelors Degree in a technical field, Business Management, or equivalent work experience.
