StartX Development Manager

About The Role

StartX is seeking a highly motivated and organized StartX Development Manager to play a critical role in cultivating and stewarding relationships with our generous donors. This role will be instrumental in growing our philanthropic support and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our mission to empower Stanford's top founders. You will work closely with the StartX leadership team and other key stakeholders to develop and execute fundraising strategies, manage donor communications, and oversee all aspects of the donation process.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies for StartX.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with existing and prospective donors, building strong connections and fostering long-term engagement with a focus on StartX's mission and impact.
• Manage the full donation cycle for StartX donations, from identification and cultivation to solicitation, acknowledgment, and reporting.
• Research, identify and solicit donations for StartX, from alumni, individual donors interested in supporting entrepreneurship and others.
• Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and other fundraising materials showcasing StartX's unique value proposition.
• Track and analyze fundraising progress for StartX, providing regular reports to the StartX leadership team.
• Manage donor communications specifically related to StartX, including thank you letters, impact reports, and other updates.
• Maintain accurate records of all StartX donations and donor interactions in our CRM system.
• Collaborate with the StartX marketing and communications team to promote StartX's impact and fundraising initiatives.
• Manage the StartX donation budget and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Represent StartX at fundraising events and other outreach activities.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in fundraising or a related field, preferably with start-up and/or the non-profit sector.
• Proven track record of successfully securing philanthropic support and willing to commit to targets.
• Strong understanding of fundraising principles and best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in CRM software.
• Passion for StartX's mission and a commitment to supporting entrepreneurship.
• Experience working with a startup or in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with the Stanford ecosystem is a plus.
