State Fund's IT Server Operations department is looking for a Virtualization System Administrator to provide enterprise support.
Under general direction by the Server Operations Supervisor II, you will be responsible for:
- Providing 2nd tier virtualization enterprise systems support by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
- Monitoring systems to identify problems, trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Configuring, testing, and updating virtualization configurations.
- Installing, upgrading, or decommissioning of designated systems, products and infrastructure.
- Executing performance tuning and optimization activities.
- Creating documentation of new and existing system configuration and procedural information, and review the documentation of others.
- Providing on-site and remote technical assistance to other resources and to customers.
- Participating in problem management and root cause analysis.
- Participate in virtualization projects.
- Maintaining 24x7 availability and monitoring of business system servers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four (4) years of general IT experience performing related experience; or
- 120 semester units from an accredited college or university including at least 15 semester units IT or closely related course work; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education.

Desired Qualifications
- VMWare and Cisco product experience.
- vCenter / VRA /VDI experience.
- Experience with VMWare system reporting.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Proficient in general computer architecture (CPU, memory, storage etc).
- Demonstrated ability to be adaptable.
- Ability to be strategic and think critically.
- Excellent communication skills.

Working Conditions
Telework may be available and is subject to change based on State Fund guidelines and business needs.
The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.
