What are the responsibilities and job description for the English Language Learner Instructor position at State Fair Community College?

- Experience—teaching experience, preferable in adult education, ESL, literacy programs. Experience working with diverse populations, including ESL learners, at-risk students, or individuals with disabilities.
- Education—Bachelor Degree from accredited four-year institution
- Needed Skills—excellent communication skills, proficiency in instructional technology and general computer skills, organized, multi-tasker, accepting of diversity, ability to maintain student private records, and a life-long learner. Must be able to obtain FBI Fingerprint/Background clearance, LACES, TABE, CASAS, and other required certification.
Physical Requirements: Work involves sedentary to light work in office setting and able to lift up to 30 pounds. Employee accommodations for disabilities will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Travel Requirements: Workshop/training may require travel, which may include overnight travel.
Salary Range: $19.00 Per Hour
Completed applications will include SFCC application, cover letter, resume and if applicable transcripts. Employment will require a criminal background check at College expense. Preference is given to Missouri residents.

Department funded positions are available for both student and non-student applicants. These positions are limited to a maximum of 600 hours per fiscal year or 550 hours per fiscal year if the candidate is a retiree of the PSRS or PEERS Missouri Retirement System. A fiscal year is defined as July 1 to June 30. In addition, a part time employee can not work more than 17 hours per week unless the position has been budgeted and approved to work beyond this maximum.
