What you will be doing:
This position is located within the Department of Health's (DOH) Medicaid, Audit and Allocation Services (MAAS) team. Primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Administration of the department's public assistance cost allocation plan
- Ensure the integrity of the allocation and single-state audit processes with federal regulations
- Preparation of Medicaid expenditure analysis and reports
- Oversight of Department-Wide Allocable and Medicaid QA
The unit and the incumbent provide financial administrative support empowering the agency's mission in promoting the health, well-being, and self-sufficiency of Alaskans.

This position is at the Alaska Office Building in downtown Juneau, Alaska. The unit includes less than 10 positions that work independently in specialized capacities and as a team where crossover occurs.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in

Financial Analysis: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to interpret quantitative and qualitative data; includes data modeling, earned value management, and evaluating key financial indicators, trends, and historical data.
Principles of Accounting: Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, standards, and practices (for example, double entry accounting, accrual accounting), including the full accounting cycle and the preparation of work sheets, financial statements, ledgers, and journals.
Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible professional level experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial management.
