As a Criminal Justice Technician 1 for the Alaska State Troopers B Detachment, you will be performing a variety of tasks with an assortment of responsibilities. You will be performing Validations – the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) audit program of all records of stolen property, person alert messages (Locates), court-ordered protection orders and judicial services warrant entries into APSIN (Alaska Public Safety Information Network) and NCIC. You will be maintaining records and audits for the $8 Interstate Program for Alaska, as well as serving as backup evidence custodian, backup B Detachment TAC (Terminal Agency Coordinator), backup public information requests and assist with front office counter traffic.

A "misdemeanor crime of domestic violence" is an offense that is (1) a misdemeanor under Federal or state law; and (2) has, as an element, the use or attempted use of physical force, or the threatened use of a deadly weapon, committed by a current or former spouse, parent, or guardian of the victim, by a person with whom the victim shares a child in common, by a person who is cohabiting with or has cohabited with the victim as a spouse, parent, or guardian, or by a person similarly situated to a spouse, parent, or guardian of the victim.
If you have ever been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, do NOT apply for this position.
SPECIAL NOTE
Some positions, as identified by the department, may require specialized training or experience (investigations, vessel operation, or licensed aircraft pilot). Possession of an "Intermediate Certificate" as a police officer issued by the Alaska Police Standards Council is desirable, but not required.

The successful candidate will be required to read, understand, and agree to via signature, an agreement of confidentiality concerning the work commonly encountered within the Department of Public Safety to qualify for this position.
