Maintenance Specialist, Plumbing, Journey 2/Lead (PCN 20-8004)

What You Will Be Doing:  

• Install, maintain, and repair all facility plumbing at the Spring Creek Correctional Center in accordance with the Uniform Plumbing Code and local plumbing code
• Properly select and perform work at a professional level with steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, cast iron pipe and composting materials
• Provide assistance to other maintenance staff
• Perform other duties as assigned

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
Spring Creek Correctional Center is a maximum security state operated adult correctional institution that has a capacity of over 500 male inmates and employs approximately 200 staff.  While much of Spring Creek's inmate population serve long term sentences, we also house prisoners serving shorter sentences.

Who We Are Looking For: 

We are interested in candidates who possess some or all of the following position specific competencies:

• Possession of valid State of Alaska Journeyman Plumber Fitness Card.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, schematics, specifications, and operate two-way radios.
• Knowledge of uniform building codes.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
