The Infrastructure Services Bureau provides the foundation for all the Information Technology (IT) services in the department. We have about 70 professionals in the bureau performing engineering and / or administration for enterprise class wired and wireless networks, telecom, servers (Windows, Linux, AIX), Storage Area Networks, virtualization, containers, and data protection. We leverage on-premises data centers, a remote backup and recovery location, and cloud presence for various services that we provide to our IT partners, business users, and taxpayers. Much of our infrastructure is critical to the department and is expected to be available 24x7x365
About the job : As the Infrastructure Architect, you will :
- Be the most senior technical expert for infrastructure in the department
- Help ensure the success of all networks, server, storage, telecom, and data protection services for the enterprise
- Work closely with each section within Infrastructure Services Bureau to provide technical leadership, influence, expertise, and direction to implement new technologies and innovate solutions with existing infrastructure
- Be a member of the Enterprise Architecture Team and Architecture Review Board as one of the Domain Architects
- Assist cross-sectional teams to architect solutions that meet business needs, availability requirements, and departmental standards
- Participate in the review of statewide projects involving change to Franchise Tax Board's (FTB) infrastructure
- Work with teams to provide assistance and oversight in troubleshooting the most complex incidents and problems
- Will operate in accordance with duties associated with the System Engineering domain. All duties are performed within the framework of the department's mission and values and in line with the Departments Policies and General Procedures.
