Key Responsibilities
- Manage and treat Family Planning, STI, and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV clients in accordance with established DOH protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Assess, evaluate, and manage patients in accordance with current APRN professional practice standards, evidence-based standards, and medical treatment guidelines.
- Document all observations and actions accurately and in accordance with program guidelines.
- Collect data pursuant to and evaluate patient complaints, medical histories, and physical findings.
- Order diagnostic laboratory tests for evaluation and management of patients. Interpret and evaluate laboratory results.
- Provide preventive health care services in relation to programmatic guidelines.
- Evaluate and initiate or modify the patient treatment plan.
- Presume medication and accurately document medication in the electronic medical record.
- Provide referrals for physician or specialty care when indicated.
- Perform testing procedures, venipunctures, U/A, pregnancy test, HIV testing and counseling.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Certified as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) in accordance with Florida Statute 464. F.A.C. Chapter 64 B9-4, with specialization as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Knowledge of statutes, rules, and regulations that pertain to the programs.
- Use of equipment and supplies related to the position.
- Medical knowledge, including skills in obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and various procedures.
- Initiative, interpersonal skills, technology skills, time management, motivational skills, human relations, communication skills, and customer service skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
