DescriptionDEDICATED TO STRENGTHENING THE HEALTH, SAFETY, AND INDEPENDENCE OF IDAHOANSThe Department of Health and Welfare, Licensing & Certifications Division, has an opportunity for a Technical Records Specialist 1 - CNA Registry located at our downtown Boise location. This position maintains and manages the Idaho Nurse Aide Registry database and will act as the liaison between contractors, health care providers, staffing agencies, educators, and other state nurse aide registries.This position may be eligible for telework after successful completion of probation.BENEFITS : BEST RETIREMENT AVAILABLE IN THE NATIONWe have one of the Nation's best state retirement systems (PERSI) that offers a lifetime benefit.OTHER EXCELLENT BENEFITS

  • Processing incoming emails, faxes and mail which deal with a variety of requests (e.g. renewals, reciprocities, approvals to test) in a timely manner and within established timeframes.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of Certified Nurse Aide's (CNA) information which is placed on the registry.
  • Ensuring that the registry accurately reflects each CNA's current status as active or lapsed and uploading that information to the contractor.
  • Answering questions received by email, fax, mail, and phone related to the processes and regulations of the Nurse Aide Registry. For example, does a CNA gain active status when the CNA's status has lapsed, how does a CNA apply for out of state reciprocity, who can challenge the nurse aide certification exams, and when can they send in a renewal application.
  • Calling employers and CNAs for additional information or verification of employment status and to answer questions.
  • Sending renewal and reciprocity applications, approval to test letters, verification letter, and other requested information to CNAs.
  • Acting as a liaison with the contractor, health care providers, staffing agencies, educators, and other state nurse aide registries.
  • Meeting and talking with CNAs who drop in for help.
  • Providing support for the CNA abuse committee by taking minutes, keeping database up to date with current information, and producing correspondence.
  • Ensuring findings of abuse, neglect, and misappropriation of resident property are noted on the registry within 10 working days of the final decision.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. It is highly recommended to attach a one-page cover letter to your application to demonstrate how you meet the requirements below.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors. Typically gained by one year of full-time work experience.
  • Experience researching a variety of sources to resolve problems. Typically gained by one year of full-time work experience.
  • Experience interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments. These complex decisions could have affected the social or economic well-being of others or would result in a service or action being denied. Typically gained by one year of work experience.
  • Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system. Typically gained by six months of work experience.Learn About a Career with DHW
