Job Description
The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking an engineering student who is looking to gain real-world experience.
In this position, you will be inspecting interstate grading, paving, and new bridge construction. Inspection will include materials testing, performing measurements, tracking daily project activity, coordinating with contractors, and many other duties.
You will report to the I-35 expansion project between Ankeny and Ames and will be assisting the lead project inspector.
This opportunity will provide students with very good experience in major highway construction.
Duration Options
Summer Only: May-August 2022
Co-op Rotation: May-December 2022 (40 hours/week)
Schedule: 40 hours/week and overtime may vary
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Completion of at least two years in civil, construction, or structural engineering at an accredited four-year college or university with eligibility for senior status upon return to school.
