This position functions as the recognized resource for policy for the MI Choice Waiver program to research, recommend and formulate policy changes affecting the program. As the recognized resource, this position serves as the Department’s expert for development and maintenance of MI Choice policy, as well as 1915b and 1915c Waiver applications for amendment or renewal. This position analyzes ongoing program operations and recommends modifications of policies and procedures for the program. This position is responsible for electronic visit verification as it relates to the MI Choice program. This position provides technical assistance and consultation with policy matters to all agencies under contract with MDHHS to administer the MI Choice program according to Federal and State policy and regulations. The MI Choice Waiver Policy Analyst also provides technical assistance and training to other interested parties such as organizations and other advocates for the elderly and disabled.

Required Education And Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Master’s degree in social work, social science, administration, public administration or a human services field preferred.
Experience
Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
Additional Requirements And Information
The physical location of this position is located: 400 South Pine, Lansing MI 48933. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.
Responsibilities
Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
