About this Position:
This position provides information technology analysis, planning, and research for business functions and animal disease traceability testing software/hardware for the Animal Industry Division (AID) within the Bureau Services Section of the Bureau of Food Safety and Animal Health. The function of the Bureau is to enforce laws and regulations governing animal health, and food and feed safety in Michigan, serving as a key link in the federal-state-local food safety system. The selected candidate for this position will:
- Provide input in making decisions and recommendations and finding solutions for Information
programs and work, including primary oversight of animal disease testing program software and
hardware;
- Provide IT services for the business and program development functions of the Animal Industry Division;
- Research and analyze breaking technology and recommends software and hardware upgrades as
- Require a high degree of initiative and independent decision-making as well as technical aptitude.
NOTE: The location for this position is Constitution Hall in Lansing, Michigan and may offer some agreed upon remote work arrangement.
Required Education and Experience

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

One year of professional experience.

Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.

Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.
Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
