Job Summary

The HRQ Division Director is responsible for directing the administration, coordination and planning of Health Care Research and Quality (HRQ) division programs, functions, services, and products.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate and manage the expertise, efforts, and utilization of more than forty managers, supervisors, professionals and clerical staff in a rapidly changing health care policy, funding, data, and systems/data utilization environment.
  • Account for HRQ performance and participation in reaching HCA and DHS goals.
  • Manage and steer major transitions involving HRQ, while ensuring the integrity and quality of the division's performance and products.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

3 years of leadership experience managing health care programs, including strategic planning and directing the work of staff.

Experience demonstrates:

  • Extensive knowledge of the health care delivery system and marketplace.
  • Specialized knowledge of Medicaid and other government funding streams.
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to identify and interpret data and demographics relating to the needs and utilization of health care services related to costs versus available budget resources.
  • Knowledge and ability to evaluate project and program outcomes in relationship to federal/state requirements.
  • Successful management of high impact, technical/analytical team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly, including written communications, meetings, and public speaking.

· Ability to manage and direct work groups of individuals and use his/her expertise to support and coordinate task· forces and committees.

  • Thorough understanding of State and federal privacy and security laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of intergovernmental roles, authorities and relationships.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with the process of legislation and administrative rules.
  • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
