Are you a dedicated student passionate about making a difference? The Minnesota Cancer Reporting System (MCRS) Unit is seeking a motivated individual currently enrolled in a post-secondary, credit-granting institution to join our team. This is your chance to contribute to impactful public health efforts while gaining valuable experience in data management!
As part of the MCRS team, you'll play a vital role in supporting program staff with essential data management activities. Key responsibilities include :
Assist with data entry and ensuring accurate, high-quality records.
Prepare, scan, and import paper pathology reports.
Use available resources to locate patient demographic data (e.g., dates of birth, addresses, Social Security Numbers) to maintain complete and precise datasets.
This position is part-time and will work up to 20 hours per week. The specific hours and days of work are flexible within 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm, Monday through Friday, around student’s class schedule. This position is anticipated to last up to three years or until the selected candidate completes their educational program, whichever occurs sooner.
Minimum Qualifications
Enrolled or about to be enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate study program taking at least six semester or nine quarter credits.
Ability to :
Accurately input, verify, and edit electronic data
Compile, research, and analyze information from databases
Skilled in :
Word processing sufficient to use software, such as Microsoft Word, to type and format letters, memos, reports, and minutes of meetings, etc.
Document and records management sufficient to maintain electronic or paper files for efficient organization and retrieval of information
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to practice confidentiality when required or appropriate
Experience with software programs such as Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Pro
Experience scanning / verifying documents
Customer service skills
