Job Summary
This position will provide consulting and professional level Human Resource services for Saint Paul College to ensure efficient Human Resource processes and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws, rules and statutes, MnSCU policy, and SPC policy and procedures. This position will provide lead work for Human Resource staff and act on behalf of the Human Resource Director in their absence.
This position performs high-level professional and administrative functions with the Human Resources department to ensure that the requirements are met for personnel rules, regulations, laws, collective bargaining agreements and personnel plans. In addition to the broad set of responsibilities listed below, this position also serves as a resource to the management team for labor relations information, and contract interpretation.
Qualifications
- Professional-level human resources experience.
- Professional experience performing HR work in selection and classification relating to employment and staffing.
- Interpersonal and leadership skills sufficient to lead employees and Human Resource staff through difficult issues and problems.
- Demonstrated competence in interpreting and complying with federal and Minnesota state law and organizational policies.
- Experience with collective bargaining and contract administration
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including group presentations.
- Experience in higher education, non-profit, or government.
- Professional-level human resources experience.
