Why does the job exist?
This position provides critical functionality in support of the Department of Information Technology's (Department) traveling employees by managing the Department's Fleet Program.
How does it get done?
The key responsibilities of the position are :
1) Ensures vehicles are safe and operable for employee use and maintains a log of issuance, schedules routine and non-routine maintenance, as well as tracks and reports mileage to the State Motor Transportation Division (TSD) monthly.
2) Partner with TSD to inform employees that driving privileges have been revoked and coordinate Defensive Driving Training is completed, and reported to TSD to reinstate employee driving privileges.
3)Acts as the designated Wright Express (WEX) Gas Card point of contact for the Department, audits WEX gas card usage, assigns / cancels gas cards and fraud detection, develops and maintains gas card guidelines usage guidelines in accordance with the TSD mandates, and provide personal instruction to Department employees as needed.
4) Requests vendor reports if there are any occurrences that merit a gas card users review.
5) Ensure annual renewals are completed timely which includes renewing vehicle leases through TSD, WEX gas card purchase order renewals, and other procurement requests to support the duties of the position, as well as audit invoices for payments and other financial documents when necessary.
6) Act as back-up to the Mail Room Position during absences of the Mail Room Clerk.
7) Other related duties as may be assigned.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the below listed skills :
- Knowledge and experience applying TSD requirements, including 1.5.3 NMAC in the State of New Mexico, along with knowledge and experience in New Mexico Procurement Code and Department of Finance and Administration requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong writing skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience SHARE Financials as they relate to the purchasing processes.
Minimum Qualification
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or Business Administration and two (2) years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance, and / or budgeting. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and / or direct
experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain current ID or Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required, and employment is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual / Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
