Why does the job exist?
This position is the sole Human Resources position at State Records Center and Archives (SRCA).
How does it get done?
- Recruitment - create job advertisements, screen candidates, prepare documents for hiring, perform onboarding for new hires.
- Payroll - ensure all employees are paid appropriately and timey, process terminations, pay corrections, etc.
- Benefits and leave management - process Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disability Act, and Workers Compensation for employees.
- Employee Relations - advise SRCA on disciplinary actions.
- Provide guidance on SRCA and the State Personnel Board Rules to SRCA staff.
- Loss Control - responsible for loss control for the agency.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in any field and preferred experience in human resource operations; recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR related training experience and/or occupational analysis. Substitutions apply.

Employment Requirements

Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive phone and personal computer usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Direct client interaction and some travel may be required.
