Why does the job exist?
The Management Analyst -Advanced identifies, administers, provides oversight, and coordinates department-wide administration of New Mexico Tourism Department (NMTD) business processes and New Mexico Magazine (NMM) business processes in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and guidelines.
How does it get done?
The primary purpose of the Management Analyst-Advanced is to coordinate and process the daily financial transactions of the New Mexico Magazine (NMM), an Enterprise fund as defined by the Department of Finance and Administration's Model of Accounting Practices (MAPS) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). The NMM is a unique and critical marketing tool of New Mexico Tourism Department (NMTD); this position will ensure the daily financial activities are maintained in a timely fashion. The Management Analyst-Advanced provides oversight and coordination of the NMM freelance agreements, which requires continuous communication with the Art and Editorial Directors, along with freelance contractors regarding agreement preparation, accurate maintenance of the tracking log and processing of payments. This position is responsible for obtaining W-9s from freelance contractors and other vendors, to include new and updates for entity name, address and / or banking information. In addition, this position will collaborate with agency vendor relations designated point of contact for DFA submission.
The Management Analyst-Advanced will be responsible for billing and applying payments for advertising clients (print and digital) in Magazine Manager, a publication software and subsidiary ledger. In addition, will prepare the daily deposit based on revenue type, will collaborate closely with the Accountant Auditor daily and during the month-end closing processes. At time may post the deposit on the general ledger in SHARE Financial.
The Management Analyst-Advanced serves as a resource to all NMTD divisions regarding grant agreements and NMM business processes and procedures. Provides information, research, analysis, written reports, and recommendations as needed. Provides financial support within the Administrative Services Division (ASD) in the areas of travel, the procurement card program, grant programs, and contracts management. This position coordinates, attends, and participates in NMTD and other governmental meetings related to grants and NMM needs and provides information and communication to local government officials and the public. Finally, if necessary, this position will assist with preparation of requests for proposals and contracts, in compliance with the New Mexico Procurement Code, NMTD's internal procurement procedures, applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual / Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Possible exposure to irate clientele. Some statewide travel may be required. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Must have own mode of transportation for work-related travel.
