The Purchasing Agent III will :
Assist in development of scopes of work for contracts / agreements, including professional service contracts (PSC), Professional service exempt contracts, Governmental Services Agreements (GSA), Memorandum of Agreements (MOA). UNM Addendum's and other agency agreements as needed;Provide Technical assistance to Health Care Authority (HCA) staff;Coordinate with program management to prepare contracts and amendments ensuring all required documentation is submitted accurately and timely;Route and track contracts throughout the approval process utilizing agencies Bonfire tracking system.How does it get done?
The Purchasing Agent III is responsible for :
Providing contract training and guidance to division staff;Working with SHARE financial module, Contracts and Purchasing;Understanding of the NM State Procurement Code and DFA Manual of Modeling Accounting Practices (MAPs);Completing packet submissions to NM State Purchasing Division / Contracts Review Bureau;Daily processing of contract requests utilizing Bonfire;Fostering positive relationships with division staff, HCA management and other department staff;Collaborating with other divisions or departments to meet procurement needs;Tracking and reporting contract / agreement activities;Staying informed on changes in laws and regulations related to government procurement.Who are the customers?

The Ideal Candidate has :
Strong understanding of the NM State Procurement Code and DFA Manual of Modeling Accounting Practices (MAPs);Experience with SHARE contracts and purchasing modules;Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships;Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal;Experience reviewing and preparing specifications and scopes of work;Strong analytical skills.Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting and Finance and two (2) years of experience in accounting, finance, purchasing, procurement, and / or warehouse clerking. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting, with exposure to Visual / Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive computer and telephone usage. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
