Why does the job exist?
The Secretary III/Information Clerk will:
Be responsible for providing customer service to applicants, healthcare providers and system users;
Process data entry of new criminal history screening applications;
Prepare and scan incoming documents for review by a program analyst. Assist in filing and maintaining the file room;
Assist with program mail outs;
Contact healthcare providers/facilities to notify them of incomplete screening applicants and to obtain missing information;
Field a high volume of phone calls and assist with system issues and questions and/or direct the caller to the appropriate staff member for assistance.
How does it get done?
The Secretary III/Information Clerk is responsible for:
Providing customer service by handling a high volume of calls;
Processing data entry of criminal history screening applications;
Contacting healthcare providers/facilities and applicants to notify them of incomplete screening applications and to obtain missing information;
Handling and prepare incoming and outgoing mail;
Filing and file maintenance.

Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of related experience in office administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) months may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Office setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT). Extensive personal computer and customer service by handling a high volume of calls.
