Description: The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Division 3 Construction Unit is seeking a motivated intern to assist with key tasks in driveway permitting, encroachment permitting, and construction inspection. This internship provides hands-on experience in the field of civil engineering, offering exposure to real-world transportation projects while developing essential technical and professional skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the review and processing of driveway and encroachment permits.
- Participate in construction inspections, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Work closely with district and resident engineers on assigned tasks and projects.
- Complete tasks requiring attention to detail, time management, and strong communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Background or coursework in Civil Engineering or related field(s).
- Proficiency in computer applications and strong communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to fieldwork and office tasks.

- Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 (on 4.0 scale)
- Has legal right to work in the U.S. and do not need sponsorship
