This position will be used to fill multiple positions in the Department of transportation District 5 Construction and/or Maintenance offices located in Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion, Marlboro and Williamsburg. **
In the area of Engineering, the responsibilities include:
Pay rate is between $17.00 - $23.00 / per hour depending on qualifications. Pay rate is between $17.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on qualifications.A high school diploma; and or an approved acceptable equivalence. Applicants must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a two-year college or university program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management. In the area of Engineering, the responsibilities include:
- Under direct supervision, assists in the areas of surveying, construction, inspection and/or material sampling and testing.
- Assists roadway inspectors in the inspection of roadway construction, including areas of asphalt paving, earthwork, base, drainage operations and concrete placement operations.
- Aids with office duties, preparing construction reports and daily work reports in Site Manager, assists with reconciling quantities to closeout projects.
- Assists survey parties, uses surveying equipment correctly to measure elevation, distance and set vertical and horizontal controls.
