What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiscal Analyst position at State of South Carolina?
Under general supervision, perform general accounting duties for the South Carolina Technical College System (SCTCS). Responsible for processing assigned accounts payable documents to include routine purchase order payments, project reimbursements, grant payments, travel reimbursements, interdepartmental transfers, travel advances, and direct payments. Monitor unpaid invoices, review the interdepartmental transfers document list, and regular running of reports such as FAGLL03, parked documents, and the error file. Responsible for the distribution of invoices to the appropriate college contacts and other contractual sources. Prepare and enter routine journal entries, ensuring adequate back-up, and adherence to the SCTCS and the South Carolina Comptroller General’s Office guidelines.
A high school diploma and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance, or banking. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for the required work experience.
Knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping principles and practices. Knowledge of agency policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and program services. Must have a working knowledge of accounting processes including Federal, State, and local regulations and guidelines. Ability to analyze and interpret related data. Ability to proficiently apply mathematical concepts. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of staff and management. Must possess the ability to work independently in the performance of all assigned duties.
