What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Project Coordinator position at State of South Carolina?
The Facilities Project Coordinator will assist with the coordination and management of projects to include overall monitoring contract administration, planning, design, bidding, construction, and closeout of projects.
Assist in the execution and coordination of projects through the planning, design, bidding, construction, and closeout phases.
Monitors new and renovated state projects to ensure the work complies to the building codes, and the design professional plans and specification.
Execute project activities including assisting with the bid process, procuring services, change orders, updating project schedules and budgets, and providing project status reports.
Maintains knowledge of and implements the College and industry requirements, procedures and standards including but not limited to state procurement policies, Office of State Engineer (OSE), and all other local, state, and Federal regulations.
Communicate and coordinate project issues with internal and external clients, professional consultants, and regulatory agencies.
Provides assistance to the Director of Facilities to develop and improve department policies, procedures, and training to all Physical Plant staff.
Monitors and provides assistance in the facilities service request using the maintenance work order system (TMA).
Performs other related duties as requiredHigh school diploma and relevant experience.Two years of experience in new construction and renovation project oversight preferred. Prefer Associate or Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Science and Management, or related field.Position is essential, and may require work at the College when an emergency is declared. Duties may include exposure to hazardous waste materials or caustic substances, routine lifting and maneuvering of weights up to 50 lbs
