We are looking for teammates who are:
- Knowledgeable in accounting principles and auditing standards.
- Knowledgeable of state and federal rules, regulations, and status pertinent to tax compliance.
- Able to use their oral and written skills to effectively explain provisions of tax law.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of independently prioritizing tasks.
- Eager to use their knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
What you will do:
As a Technical Training Coordinator, you will coordinate all activities and programs in the SCDOR Audit, Licensing, & Enforcement division that address auditor training and development under limited supervision.Primary job duties include:
- Collaborating with organizational leadership to develop, implement, evaluate, communicate, conduct, and coordinate all auditor training.
- Scheduling training for audit teams and individual audit staff.
- Acting as a liaison between the SCDOR Audit, Licensing, & Enforcement division and the Training section of the SCDOR.
- Developing various instructional and technical manuals for all taxes.
- Researching and interpreting federal and state tax law.
- Using all available resources to train, educate, and develop the SCDOR audit staff.
- Coordinating training sessions for the general public.
- A bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant program experience
Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Additional Requirement:
- A valid driver's license
- The ability for statewide travel with occasional overnight stay
- Tax related experience
- Accounting hours

- Training: Technical Training Coordinator's will participate in a training program to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to successfully perform their job.
- Hours: Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week).
- Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
- Office location: Depending on space availability, you may have the option to choose which SCDOR office you work in (Columbia, Charleston, Florence, Greenville, Myrtle Beach, or Rock Hill.).
