The Division of Adult Institution is recruiting to fill a Buildings and Grounds Supervisor position . This position is based out of Oakhill Correctional Institution located in Oregon, WI.
Position Summary

This position will supervise the Institution’s maintenance program, provide direct supervision to maintenance staff and provide direction in the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and institution grounds. This position will participate in project planning; direct the preventative maintenance, pest control, and grounds programs; determine supply and equipment needs for maintenance; assist with monitoring budget expenditures; conduct health & safety checks/inspections. Assigned responsibilities include the assignment of security staff and inmate workers to effectively carry out program functions.
Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule/range 81-04 with salary of $20.65/hr - $38.05/hr ($42952 - $79144 annually), plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Job Details

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
Remote work is not an option for this position.
Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:
  • With methods and techniques used in the construction and maintenance of institution buildings, equipment and grounds
  • Utilizing various computer operations and applications such as CMMS (Computerize Maintenance Management Systems) that manages workorders, Online ordering, basic computer applications such as Microsoft, excel, outlook, etc.
  • Supervision experience in managing day-to-day operations, including managing or directing subordinate staff (e.g. building projects, scheduling, assigning and directing work and performance evaluations).
In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience with :
  • Managing preventative maintenance planning and programs.
  • Developing and/or monitoring a p roject management to include estimation of materials and equipment.
