Join Our Team as a Classroom Educator
The Office of Children and Family Services invites applications from qualified educators to join our team as a Classroom Educator. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality educational services to residents of an OCFS facility.
Responsibilities:
- Teach and inspire residents of the OCFS facility through engaging lesson plans and activities.
- Develop and implement daily and weekly lesson plans, incorporating best practices and research-based methods.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and modify curriculum, ensuring alignment with state education requirements.
Qualifications:
- Permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer.
- Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.
- Two years of post-certification teaching experience.
Background Investigation Requirements:
- Criminal Background Check (CBC).
- State and federal Criminal History Record Checks.
- Staff Exclusion List (SEL) check for Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth prospective appointees.
