Join Our Team as a Classroom Educator

The Office of Children and Family Services invites applications from qualified educators to join our team as a Classroom Educator. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality educational services to residents of an OCFS facility.

Responsibilities:

• Teach and inspire residents of the OCFS facility through engaging lesson plans and activities.
• Develop and implement daily and weekly lesson plans, incorporating best practices and research-based methods.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and modify curriculum, ensuring alignment with state education requirements.

Qualifications:

• Permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer.
• Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.
• Two years of post-certification teaching experience.

Background Investigation Requirements:

• Criminal Background Check (CBC).
• State and federal Criminal History Record Checks.
• Staff Exclusion List (SEL) check for Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth prospective appointees.
