Duties Description Are you interested in starting your career as a Family Health Nurse Practitioner with New York State? Kingsboro Psychiatric Center is recruiting a Nurse Practitioner Family Health to provide patient-centered primary health care to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.
As Nurse Practitioner Family Health, you will provide primary health care including :
- Conducting physical examinations.
- Diagnosing and treating health conditions.
- Establishing individual goals and treatment objectives in conjunction with treatment team.
- Prescribing medications and treatments, monitoring impact, and modifying as needed.
- Maintaining medical records and documentation.
Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Nurse Practitioner Family Health if they have certification and current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in the Family Health specialty practice area by the New York State Education Department.
Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b / 55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

This position is eligible for a Downstate Adjustment of $3,400.

Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 24 ($88,639), Location pay (3,400) and Geographic Pay Differential ($40,000). The posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate ($155,297), location pay ($3,400) Geographic Pay Differential ($40,000).

If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
3. License and Certification : Loss of license or certification to practice in New York State may result in removal from your position.
