-Position: Front Desk Clerk

Responsibilities
-Be the first point of contact for guests upon check-in
-Learn, understand and work with our reservation and hotel administration software (Opera)
-Book reservations in person, over the phone
-Program room keys for guest
-Update and edit reservations and guest profiles when needed
-Handle documentation like credit card authorizations and other information
-Receive and send faxes for guests when requested
-Communicate with other employees via our employee message board to help all employees be made aware of
guest’s comments and issues
-Provide information about the Hotel’s rooms, amenities, and other available services
-Provide customer service for guests in-house in a friendly and calm manner that makes them feel appreciated
and understood
-Complete IHG employee training, when necessary
-Communicate with our housekeepers to provide an experience that matches guests' expectations in terms of
cleanliness
- Communicate with our Maintenance team to make sure both the guests’ rooms and hotel, in general, are in
proper working order.
-Charge guests’ debit/credit cards via our payment transaction services
-Provide a knowledgeable source or information for guest's commonly asked questions (i.e. Directions to local
travel hubs like airports, information about local travel destinations like recreational activities and restaurants)
-Maintain cleanliness of the hotel’s general guest areas when housekeeping staff is not on shift
Preferred Personal Requirements (A great front desk clerk will…)
-Experience with customer service. Being able to properly understand what a guest’s question or issue might be
to properly address it.
-Understanding of common productivity programs such as Microsoft Word
-Ability to adapt to different situations in relation to a guest’s request or maintenance issues
-High School Education or equivalent diploma
-Understand and implement company policies and directives/instructions from the hotel manager.
-As our hotel is extended stay, a large number of our guests stay with us for extended periods. Learning about
and understanding our guests’ preferences to ensure they enjoy their stay
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $14.00 per hour
