What will your day-to-day look like?
- Completing safety checklists
- Using overhead cranes and fork-lifts to retrieve stock material to load on plate burning machines for processing
- Unloading and inspecting completed parts for quality and dimensional accuracy
- Packing completed parts for shipment
- Operating overhead cranes and fork-lifts
- Completing orders using computer system
- Assisting with unloading incoming shipments
- Banding, palletizing, and labeling of finished parts
- Replenishing stocking areas
- Maintaining accurate inventory
- Keeping work area organized, neat, and clean
- Maintaining operating equipment as needed
What are the requirements?
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools
- Math skills for confirming piece counts
- Forklift operation (will train)
- Overhead crane operation (will train)
- Must be comfortable working in a warehouse setting subject to seasonally hot and/or cold conditions
- The ideal candidate will always put safety first and will always wear appropriate PPE, as well as participate in safety training initiatives, regardless of experience
- Should prefer working in a team environment, but be comfortable working on independent tasks when assigned
What will give you an edge over other applicants?
- Prior metal work experience – operating band saws, angle master, or CNC burning
- machine
- Experience handling metal products up to 10 tons
- Forklift experience (preferably side loader forklifts)
- Overhead crane experience
- Ability to load/unload the materials by hand and via heavy equipment
- Commitment to safety standards and ongoing safety initiatives
