Job Title:- Risk Management Consultant
Job Location:- Washington DC (Hybrid)
Long Term Contract
The purpose of this Risk Management Consultant role is to evaluate, identify areas for improvement, and recommend best practices for strengthening an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program for a billion-dollar utility company.
Responsibilities
Assess the current ERM framework in alignment with industry standards (e.g. ISO 31000 and COSO ERM).
Identify gaps in the existing program and assess ERM processes, policies, and governance structures.
Document ERM processes, including risk identification, assessment response, and monitoring.
Map out roles and responsibilities and assess reporting mechanisms withing the ERM framework.
Perform a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Assessment (RA).
Develop an ERM Playbook.
Identify key performance indicators (KPIs).
Apply a change management framework.
Design tailored ERM training materials and conduct workshops.
Develop a strategic ERM roadmap.
Qualifications
Required
7 years of Risk Management experience
7 years of Change Management experience
7 years of Public Sector and/or Utility Risk Management experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, or Business
Stakeholder/ Client engagement experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently
Microsoft Office
Preferred
Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) or ISO 31000 Lead Risk Manager,
Knowledge of the regulatory and operational challenges within public sector organizations or utilities
