Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information about services.
- Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of resources and time.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, and billing information.
- Assist with medical billing processes and ensure timely submission of claims.
- Utilize Athenahealth or similar systems for managing patient data and scheduling.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care, including follow-up appointments and treatment options.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office organization.
- Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology to assist in patient communications when necessary.
- Support the office management team in various tasks to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in roles involving patient service or office management.
- Proficiency in medical records management and medical billing processes is essential.
- Familiarity with Athenahealth or similar healthcare management systems is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks.
- Knowledge of dental terminology is an advantage but not required.
