About the Role:
As a Life Skills Coach, you will provide more than just care. You’ll be a mentor, friend, and advocate, making a lasting difference in the lives of people with IDD.
- Life Skills Coaching: Teach and support daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, and practicing good hygiene.
- Relationship Building: Foster deep connections by offering support, understanding, and mentorship to participants, making a true difference in their lives.
- Mentorship: Build strong relationships and help participants grow into the best versions of themselves.
- Advocacy: Empower participants to make healthy decisions and advocate for themselves.
- Transportation: Safely transport participants to and from appointments or activities.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records and notes in a timely manner.
Expected Outcomes:
Within 15 Days:
- Acquaint yourself with Stepping Stone's approach to empowering individuals with IDD.
- Build trust and rapport with your participants to understand their unique needs and challenges.
Within 30 Days:
- Initiate small, participant-specific changes aimed at improving their self-sufficiency and engagement.
- Develop personalized, short-term goals that align with each participant’s abilities and aspirations.
Within 45 Days:
- Monitor and record improvements and milestones achieved by participants and refine your approach as needed.
- Document tangible progress in participant’s daily living skills, social interactions, or other predefined metrics.
Need to Have:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insurance.
- Previous experience or a strong desire to work with vulnerable populations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Previous experience in life skills coaching, as a home health aide or direct-care provider.
- Tech-savvy for record-keeping and documentation.
Schedule:
- Part-time (10-31 hours/week), with potential to move into full-time (32-40 hours/week)
- Flexible, based on participant needs – ideal for university students, parents, retirees, and others with flexible schedules.
Location:
- We have a need for providers in a wide range of areas in the Denver, CO metro area.
Pay Rate:
- $18 – $20/hr.

Pay: $18.30 - $20.00 per hour
